Sensory Support. Emotional Regulation. Motor Foundations.

Whole-child occupational therapy and parent coaching for regulation, motor foundations, and everyday ease.

Who I Help

I support children who struggle to feel steady in their bodies, emotions, and daily routines — and the parents who want to understand them better.

I’m here for families with children who:

Have sensory differences

• easily overwhelmed by noise, touch, movement, or transitions
• seek constant movement, pressure, or “big” play
• have difficulty staying regulated throughout the day

Experience emotional dysregulation

• big feelings that erupt fast
• shutdowns, meltdowns, or anxiety
• trouble calming their bodies without adult support

Show signs of underlying sensory or motor delays

• difficulty with balance, coordination, or core strength
• challenges with endurance, posture, or fine motor skills

Need a parent who feels confident supporting them

I help parents understand why their child behaves the way they do — and give them clear, practical tools to support regulation at home, in school, and in daily life.

Whether your child is a mover, a feeler, a seeker, or easily overwhelmed…
you don’t have to navigate this alone.

How I Support Your Child

I combine sensory integration therapy, motor development, and parent coaching to help your child feel more regulated, confident, and capable in everyday life. My approach is gentle, relationship-centered, and grounded in how the nervous system truly works.

1. Sensory Integration Therapy

I help your child understand and organize sensory input so they can feel calmer, more in control, and better able to participate in daily routines.
This may include:
• sensory processing support
• structured sensory diets
• play-based regulation activities
• movement and body awareness strategies

2. Emotional Regulation Support

Big feelings often come from big sensory experiences. I teach your child (and you!) tools to:
• calm their body
• recognize cues before overwhelm hits
• recover from dysregulation
• build confidence and resilience

Everything we practice is rooted in co-regulation, safety, and connection.

3. Motor Foundations

Movement skills build attention, behavior, handwriting, and overall ease in daily life. I support:
• balance + coordination
• core strength + stability
• body control + endurance
• underlying reflex patterns
• bilateral + fine motor skills

Foundational motor skills help children move, learn, and regulate with more ease.

4. Parent Coaching Every Step of the Way

The most meaningful change happens between sessions. I empower you with:
• simple home strategies
• sensory routines
• emotional regulation tools
• nervous-system-informed parenting scripts
• clarity about what your child needs and why

You’ll feel supported, confident, and capable — not overwhelmed.

A nervous-system-first approach

Instead of focusing only on behaviors or surface-level skills, I look at what your child’s nervous system is communicating. When we address the root — sensory needs, emotional safety, and motor foundations — everything else becomes easier.

Support for both the child and the parent

You’re not left guessing what to do at home. I coach you through simple, effective strategies you can use during daily routines so progress continues between sessions.

Blending sensory integration with motor foundations

Regulation and development go hand-in-hand. I combine sensory processing support, reflex integration, and movement-based therapy so your child gains the body control, balance, and confidence they need to thrive.

Relationship-centered

Children grow best when they feel safe, seen, and supported — not pressured. I use connection-driven, neurodiversity-affirming methods that honor your child’s individuality.

Clear explanations without the overwhelm

I translate complex sensory and developmental concepts into practical language you can actually use — so you not only see progress, you understand why it’s happening.

Progress that fits your real life

I give families tools that are flexible, doable, and designed to fit naturally into your routines — not a long list of unrealistic exercises.

FAQs

  • Absolutely. A formal diagnosis isn’t required to begin services.

Many families come to Rise and Run Therapy because they’ve noticed challenges with sensory regulation, coordination, or attention — even if no diagnosis has been made.

We start with an individualized assessment to understand your child’s strengths and areas for growth, then create a plan that supports their body and brain working together more smoothly.

If we ever feel that an additional evaluation or collaboration with another provider would be helpful, we’ll guide you through that process with care.

  • We specialize in working with infants, toddlers, and school-aged children through early adolescence.

Our approach focuses on helping kids build sensory regulation, coordination, and confidence in daily routines — whether that means supporting a baby’s early motor milestones, a preschooler’s body awareness, or an older child’s focus and self-regulation.

Every child’s developmental journey is unique, and our sessions are tailored to meet them exactly where they are.

  • We support children with a wide range of developmental and sensory needs — and many who don’t have a formal diagnosis at all.

    Common areas we address include:

    • Sensory processing challenges

    • Emotional or behavioral regulation

    • Motor coordination or balance difficulties

    • Delayed milestones (crawling, walking, handwriting, etc.)

    • Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)

    • ADHD or attention differences

    • Developmental delay

    • Anxiety or difficulty with transitions

    • Down Syndrome

    • Cerebral Palsy

    • Decreased Strength

    • Decreased Endurance

    • Apraxia

Our approach focuses on understanding each child’s unique sensory and motor profile, rather than fitting them into a single diagnostic category. Every therapy plan is individualized to support your child’s growth, confidence, and regulation in daily life.

  • Our therapy sessions are designed to strengthen the foundations that help your child move, play, and connect with confidence.

We help children build skills in areas such as:

    • Sensory regulation — feeling calm, focused, and in control of their body

    • Motor coordination and balance — improving strength, posture, and body awareness

    • Reflex integration — supporting smooth, organized movement patterns

    • Attention and focus — helping your child stay engaged and successful in learning and play

    • Emotional regulation — managing frustration, transitions, and sensory input

    • Independence in daily routines — such as dressing, feeding, handwriting, and play

Our goal is to help your child feel more confident, capable, and connected — both at home and in their world.

  • Each session is designed to feel like play — but with a purpose.
Using movement, sensory exploration, and meaningful activities, we help your child strengthen the skills that support regulation, coordination, and confidence.

You can expect a calm, supportive environment where your child feels safe to explore and grow. We’ll also share strategies, observations, and progress updates so you can carry over skills at home and in everyday routines.

  • 50 minutes with 5-10 minutes for parent education and cleaning time

  • We offer 1:1 in-home therapy sessions and virtual sessions for children.

In-home sessions allow your child to learn and practice skills in the comfort and familiarity of their own environment — making carryover into daily life more natural and effective.

Our virtual sessions are interactive and engaging, designed to support sensory regulation, reflex integration, and parent coaching from anywhere.

Both options are personalized, flexible, and built to fit your family’s schedule and comfort level.

  • We are a self-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly.
This allows us to provide individualized, evidence-based care without the limitations of insurance requirements — such as session caps, diagnoses for coverage, or restrictions on therapy approaches.

We’re happy to provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Payment is due at the time of service, and we accept credit/debit cards, HSA, and FSA payments.

  • Insurance companies often require a medical diagnosis and may limit the type or amount of therapy we can provide.

By remaining self-pay, we can focus on what truly matters — supporting your child’s sensory, motor, and emotional development — without being restricted by outside criteria or codes.

This flexibility allows us to design sessions that are personalized, progress-focused, and guided entirely by your child’s unique needs.
