Meet Lindsey
Hi, I’m Lindsey — Pediatric Occupational Therapist and founder of Rise and Run Therapy.
If you’ve ever wondered why your child avoids movement, melts down during transitions, or can’t quite find calm no matter what you try — you’re in the right place.
With over 10 years of experience supporting children with sensory, motor, and regulation challenges, I help families uncover why their child struggles — and build practical, nurturing strategies that work at home and in daily life.
My approach is gentle, play-based, and grounded in nervous system science. Every child I work with is seen as capable, unique, and deeply deserving of understanding — not just strategies.
When I’m not working with families, you can usually find me outside on a trail near Boulder, enjoying coffee, or chasing the perfect sunrise.

Mission and vision
Mission
To empower children and families through movement-based, evidence-informed occupational therapy that supports regulation, coordination, and self-awareness.
We meet each child where they are — helping their body and brain build the neurological connections they need to rise to new challenges and run toward their full potential.
Vision
We envision a world where every child grows up feeling regulated, resilient, and ready to thrive — not just in therapy, but in school, at home, and in everyday life.
Our vision is to guide families toward understanding the “why” behind behaviors and to build a community where early intervention helps children lay strong neurological foundations for lifelong learning and well-being.
Core values
At Rise & Run Therapy, sessions are play-based, movement-centered, and individualized for every child.
We use therapeutic techniques that support both the nervous system and the body, including:
Primitive reflex integration
Sensory processing and regulation strategies
Postural control and motor coordination exercises
Emotional regulation and interoception support
This holistic approach helps children gain better focus, confidence, and body awareness — creating change that lasts beyond the therapy room.
Our goal isn’t just to work on skills — it’s to help your child feel safe, capable, and confident in their own body.

Absolutely. A formal diagnosis isn’t required to begin services.
Many families come to Rise and Run Therapy because they’ve noticed challenges with sensory regulation, coordination, or attention — even if no diagnosis has been made.
We start with an individualized assessment to understand your child’s strengths and areas for growth, then create a plan that supports their body and brain working together more smoothly.
If we ever feel that an additional evaluation or collaboration with another provider would be helpful, we’ll guide you through that process with care.

We specialize in working with infants, toddlers, and school-aged children through early adolescence.
Our approach focuses on helping kids build sensory regulation, coordination, and confidence in daily routines — whether that means supporting a baby’s early motor milestones, a preschooler’s body awareness, or an older child’s focus and self-regulation.
Every child’s developmental journey is unique, and our sessions are tailored to meet them exactly where they are.

We support children with a wide range of developmental and sensory needs — and many who don’t have a formal diagnosis at all.
Common areas we address include:
Sensory processing challenges
Retained primitive reflexes
Emotional or behavioral regulation
Motor coordination or balance difficulties
Delayed milestones (crawling, walking, handwriting, etc.)
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
ADHD or attention differences
Developmental delay
Anxiety or difficulty with transitions
Down Syndrome
Cerebral Palsy
Decreased Strength
Decreased Endurance
Apraxia
Our approach focuses on understanding each child’s unique sensory and motor profile, rather than fitting them into a single diagnostic category. Every therapy plan is individualized to support your child’s growth, confidence, and regulation in daily life.

Our therapy sessions are designed to strengthen the foundations that help your child move, play, and connect with confidence.
We help children build skills in areas such as:
Sensory regulation — feeling calm, focused, and in control of their body
Motor coordination and balance — improving strength, posture, and body awareness
Reflex integration — supporting smooth, organized movement patterns
Attention and focus — helping your child stay engaged and successful in learning and play
Emotional regulation — managing frustration, transitions, and sensory input
Independence in daily routines — such as dressing, feeding, handwriting, and play
Our goal is to help your child feel more confident, capable, and connected — both at home and in their world.

Each session is designed to feel like play — but with a purpose.
Using movement, sensory exploration, and meaningful activities, we help your child strengthen the skills that support regulation, coordination, and confidence. You can expect a calm, supportive environment where your child feels safe to explore and grow. We’ll also share strategies, observations, and progress updates so you can carry over skills at home and in everyday routines.

We offer 1:1 in-home therapy sessions and virtual sessions for children.
In-home sessions allow your child to learn and practice skills in the comfort and familiarity of their own environment — making carryover into daily life more natural and effective.
Our virtual sessions are interactive and engaging, designed to support sensory regulation, reflex integration, and parent coaching from anywhere.
Both options are personalized, flexible, and built to fit your family’s schedule and comfort level.

We are a self-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly.
This allows us to provide individualized, evidence-based care without the limitations of insurance requirements — such as session caps, diagnoses for coverage, or restrictions on therapy approaches. We’re happy to provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
Payment is due at the time of service, and we accept credit/debit cards, HSA, and FSA payments.
 -

Insurance companies often require a medical diagnosis and may limit the type or amount of therapy we can provide.
By remaining self-pay, we can focus on what truly matters — supporting your child’s sensory, motor, and emotional development — without being restricted by outside criteria or codes.
This flexibility allows us to design sessions that are personalized, progress-focused, and guided entirely by your child’s unique needs.
